Côte d'Ivoire, in the form of a long republic of Côte d'Ivoire (RCI), is a state located in Africa, in the western part of the Gulf of Guinea. It significantly presents the shape of a square about 600 km side. Covering an area of 322,462 km², it is bordered to the northwest by Mali, to the northeast by Burkina Faso, to the east by Ghana, to the southwest by Liberia, in the west- Northwest by Guinea and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The population is estimated at 29,389,150 inhabitants in 20216.
The political and administrative capital of Côte d'Ivoire is Yamoussoukro, but almost all institutions are in Abidjan, its main economic center. His official language is French, but some 70 languages and dialects are spoken on a daily basis. Its currency is the CFA franc. The country is part of ECOWAS, the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
